REHARSALS

First read through with be on Monday, June 3, 2013. Rehearsals will start on June 4, 2012. Rehearsals will be Monday-Wednesday evenings from 7:00pm - 10:00pm with some Saturday rehearsals (to be announced) these usually occur from 12:00pm to 4:00pm

PERFORMANCE INFORMATION

Lysistrata Jones opens on August 2, 2013 and will run for 13 performances. Friday and Saturday performances at 7:30pm and Sunday matinees at 2:30pm. There will be one Industry Night on Monday, August 5, 2013 at 7:30pm. Lysistrata Jones will close on Sunday, August 25, 2013.

Casting for the following roles: (various ethnicities preferred but will consider all, basketball/cheerleading experience a plus)

Lysistrata Jones: Female, 20's, College cheerleading captain. She's hot, and she knows it. A stereotypical "blonde" (does not need to be blonde), she's the charismatic leader of the cheerleaders. Deep thoughts haven't occurred to her until now. Must be a great singer/actor and solid dancer with great comedic timing. Vocal style: contemporary pop/R&B voice with a thrilling high belt. Cheerleading skills a plus.

Robin Smythe: Female, 20's. Intellectual college student. Works in the library. A bookworm and poet, her favorite choice of expression is spoken-word/slam poetry. Quick-witted and dry sense of humor. Must be a great singer/actor and excellent dancer with great comedic timing. Vocal style: contemporary pop. Cheerleading skills a plus.

Cleonice Sanchez: Preferably Latina, 20's. Wise, fiery college cheerleader. Should be able to speak Spanish. Must be a good singer/actor and excellent dancer with great comedic timing. Vocal style: contemporary pop. Cheerleading skills a plus.

Michelangelo "Mick" Jackson: Male, 20's. Lysistrata's boyfriend, and the star captain of the college basketball team. Natural charismatic leader and alpha male. An inquisitive mind may be lurking underneath the jock persona. Must be an excellent singer/actor and solid dancer with great comedic timing. Vocal style: soaring contemporary pop/R & B voice. Must be comfortable playing basketball.

Xander Ray: Male, 20's. Outcast college student, obsessed with progressive causes. Deeply passionate about politics and standing up for change. Falls hard for Lysistrata; dances a duet with her. Must be an excellent singer/actor and incredible dancer with great comedic timing. Vocal style: contemporary pop. Must be comfortable playing basketball.

Heterai: THIS ROLE IS CAST

Mhyrinne Moore/"Tiffany": Preferably an African American, female, 20's. College cheerleader who would easily fit in with the girls of "The Hills". Poses as "Tiffany", a "gangsta" hooker, to get her boyfriend back. Must be a great singer/actor and solid dancer with great comedic timing. Vocal style: contemporary pop/R&B voice with a thrilling high belt. Cheerleading skills a plus.

Lampito Kanagawa: Preferably Asian, female, 20's, Asian. Harajuku interpretation of a college cheerleader. Passionate, but sometimes dimwitted. A follower, but not without her own backbone. Must be a good singer/actor and excellent dancer with great comedic timing. Vocal style: contemporary pop. Cheerleading skills a plus.

Cinesius: Male, 20's. College basketball player. Suburban kid who dresses (and tries to act) like a "gangsta rapper". Doesn't typically think before he speaks, which gets him in trouble with his girlfriend Mhyrinne. Must be an excellent singer/actor and solid dancer with great comedic timing. Vocal style: great contemporary pop/R & B voice. Must be comfortable playing basketball.

Stratyllis "Tyllis" Carter: Preferably African American, male, 20's. Argyle-wearing, preppy, self-proclaimed "buppie" (black yuppie) of the college basketball team. Must be an excellent singer/actor and solid dancer with great comedic timing. Vocal style: contemporary pop/R & B voice. Must be comfortable playing basketball.

'Uardo Cortez: Preferably Latino, 20's. College basketball player. Should be able to speak Spanish or enunciate well. Must be a good singer/actor/dancer with great comedic timing. Break dancer preferred. Vocal style: contemporary pop. Must be comfortable playing basketball.

Harold Lacedaemonian: Male, early 20's, any ethnicity. Acrobatics and physical tricks a plus. Must be a good singer/actor and incredible dancer with great comedic timing. Vocal style: contemporary pop. Must be comfortable playing basketball.
